mordecai children’s garden volunteer opportunities

The Mordecai Children's Garden is closed for the season, however we are looking for volunteers that would like to work in the children's garden starting in March. The Children's Garden is scheduled to reopen on
Sat, Mar. 5, weather permitting.

Children’s Garden Activity Leader:
Activity Leaders facilitate preplanned activities and projects within the Children’s Garden that extend the learning and discovery opportunities for families as they explore the Gardens.

Children’s Garden Story Time Leader:
Story Time Leaders share the Children’s Garden’s favorite stories with its visitors.  Along with reading stories to visitors, Story Time Leaders lead visitors in a planting activity.

Children’s Garden Play Facilitator:
Play Facilitators work alongside children and families in the Mordecai Children’s Garden helping to facilitate discovery, exploration and play with plants, gardens, and the natural world.  Unlike the Children’s Garden’s activity leaders, play facilitators don’t facilitate a specific activity.  Instead, they follow a child’s lead and play right alongside them.

Children’s Garden Home Harvest Garden Facilitator:
Home Harvest Garden Facilitators’ work along side visitors in the Children’s Garden vegetable garden.  Home Harvest Garden Facilitators help visitors, plant, pick, and care for the vegetables growing in the Children’s Garden’s new Home Harvest Garden.
