Saturday, February 23, 2013 - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Most gardens include a rose bush or two or twenty!

Congress designated the rose as America's national floral emblem in 1986. The popularity of growing roses began thousands of years ago and continues today. The rose growing series offered by American Rose Society Consulting Rosarians and experts from the Denver Rose Society will cover how to grow healthy, easy care and beautiful roses for years to come. The series covers secrets to successful rose growing, no pain pruning, amorous David Austin roses, disease and pest control (using Integrated Pest Management) and winter care. Choose one class or take them all and come away with confident rose growing skills and greater appreciation for the Ñueen of Flowers.

Roses grow great in Colorado! Their flower form, color and fragrance have made them the Queen of Flowers for over three thousand years. Let Dave Ingram, Consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society share the Aladdin's Lamp of Rose Success for Colorado. (Hint: it's harder than washing off concrete, easier than parking downtown.) We'll cover the different types, and you'll leave the class knowing the whys and hows to make your roses thrive and flourish.
