Pests and Diseases of Roses - Three Easy Ways of Dealing with Them

Class - Lifelong Learning| Adults
Saturday, May 18, 2013 - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Most gardens include a rose bush or two or twenty! Congress designated the rose as America’s national floral emblem in 1986. The popularity of growing roses began thousands of years ago and continues today. The rose growing series offered by American Rose Society Consulting Rosarians and experts from the Denver Rose Society will cover how to grow healthy, easy care and beautiful roses for years to come. The series covers secrets to successful rose growing, no pain pruning, amorous David Austin roses, disease and pest control (using Integrated Pest Management) and winter care. Choose one class or take them all and come away with confident rose growing skills and greater appreciation for the “Queen of Flowers.”

Share your roses with your friends – not with hungry insects. Let Dave Ingram, Consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society, teach you how to approach control of garden invaders in an organic way. We’ll also cover common fungal diseases, such as powdery mildew and blackspot, and fill your holster with options to fight back.
