Denver Urban Agriculture Tours
By Featured Instructor on Jul 26, 2013
For the second year in a row, Denver Botanic Gardens is partnering with Slow Food Denver and Grow Local Colorado to offer tours of urban agriculture projects throughout the Denver metro area. Since the tours were so popular last year (they all sold out!), we decided to double the numbers of tours offered this year. We grouped the four tours being offered this summer and fall together by geographic area: Southeast, Downtown, Southwest, and Northwest.
Each tour will take participants to three urban agriculture projects. Staff at each site will give us an hour long tour filled with the story of how they got started, what methods they use to grow food in the city, and any other questions that come up. At the last stop, we enjoy a local and seasonal lunch from Slow Food Denver. It’s a great chance to see all the innovative projects in this city while meeting and sharing a delicious lunch with fellow urban agriculture supporters.
