Peter Korn
Pulsatilla halleri white Is this pasqueflower in a garden? Or the wild? This and literally thousands of other wildflowers are growing in Peter Korn's private garden as they would on their native alps and Himalayas!
Volunteers at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield's Annual Pumpkin Festival
Maybe it’s the crisp prairie air at the turn of the season, the countless families celebrating an annual tradition, or the occasional child exploring the pumpkin patch in dressed in a wizard costume, but the Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield always feels magical. Watching families happily stroll down the paths with wagons full of pumpkins is a rewarding experience.
Japanese Garden at Denver Botanic Gardens
Summer is slowly coming to the end and we are starting to see the presence of fall in Sho-Fu-En.  The feathery, silver flowerheads of maidenhair grass (Miscanthus sinensis ‘Yakushima’) wave in the breeze around the Japanese Garden’s moon-viewing deck.
Nick Snakenberg
Dracula chiroptera Nick Snakenberg, our curator of orchid collections, is justifiably proud of his collection of Draculas. Over the past few months he has leeringly invited various staff walking by to admire these exotic and stunning orchids from South America, which he is able to grow superbly in the cool orchid greenhouse (alas! not open to the public).
Melissa Etheridge
We have a concert at York Street tonight, our last of the season. Be sure to read this bio, compiled by Gardens’ member Rick Hum and his wife Sue Ann Hum, before you go to the concert. A special thanks, Rick and Sue Ann, for all of the great bios this year. We'll see you dancing tonight at the concert!
