adult program coodinator
Under general supervision this position coordinates and executes a variety of adult and public programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to creating and implementing public programs for adult audiences such as formal and informal programs, events, lectures, tours, symposia, and other educational experiences. Adult education program content includes, but is not limited to home gardening, plant crafts or garden arts, biodiversity, conservation, environmental sciences, health and wellness and any other education opportunities offered by Denver Botanic Gardens in their efforts to connect people with plants.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal and public speaking skills in English are required. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to maintain accurate records and files. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado Drivers’ License. Horticultural, biological or environmental knowledge or experience preferred. Previous experience working with volunteers and/or in informal education preferred. Position may require working on both weekdays and weekend days.
